          -

The Mohel announces the beginning of the ceremony by calling “Kvatter”.
This indicates that the baby should be brought into the room.

          - The baby is then placed on a pillow on the chair of Elijah,
and the Mohel recites the appropriate prayers. (See Above)

          - After the Mohel concludes his rendition, the baby is lifted
off the chair of Elijah and given to the father who places the baby on
the lap of the Sandak. If he has not yet done so, the father now
appoints the Mohel to be his proxy and perform the Bris on his behalf.

          - The Mohel recites his blessing and performs the circumcision,
followed by the father reciting his blessing. At this point everyone
in the audience declares “K’sheim shenichnas l’bris, kein yikaneis
            L’Torah, L’chupah, Ul’maasim Tovim” (“Just as
he has been brought into the covenant, so may he enter Torah, the
canopy of marriage, and the performance of good deeds.”)

          - An honored guest then takes the baby from the Sandak and holds
the baby while two more blessings are recited, and another honoree
holds the baby while the name is announced.

          - At the conclusion of the naming, all present once again respond
            “K’sheim shenichnas l’bris, kein yikaneis L’Torah, L’chupah, Ul’maasim
Tovim” (“Just as he has been brought into the
covenant, so may he enter Torah, the canopy of marriage, and the practice
                of good deeds.”)

          - A prayer for the speedy recovery of the child is offered
          followed by Aleinu and Kaddish.

          - A festive meal follows the ceremony.
